How to make a Video-project (II)

Hello again!
This is the Second part of the post "How to make a Video-project".
This project is intended for Fifth Graders and now, we have done a Video about "Discovering the Americas" that you can see here.

The characters of the video are the colleagues that I mentioned in the last post, Ana, Cris, Laura and Fátima. We have assumed different roles, as you can see in the Draft.

For this Video, we used Chroma Key, but if you don't have enough resources, a green or blue sheet will be enough. Then, we have added the backgrounds when we edited the video. The images that we have used are in the draft.

For editing this video, we have used iMovie, that is a default Video Editing Software of Apple. It is a very simple and intuitive tool that allows you add titles, chroma backgrounds and some more gadgets, as a soundtrack. There are cons, such as some export files are not suitable for Windows and you can use it only if you have a Mac, so it is not affordable for everyone.

The soundtrack that we have used has the Creative Commons License and you can find it at the end of the video, on "Credits".

The purpose of this video is to introduce in an appealing way the Discovering the Americas, for the History classroom. After this video, we will encourage students to search information about this topic, write a short play and play in front of the class. With this method, we think that we lessen the stage fright and make them feel being part of the history. Other benefits we can find is that they interiorize better the history because they can live it by themselves and through their partners' play.

Don't forget to see the Bloopers!!

See you!
