Attending to the Webinar on Digital Educational Experiences!!!

Hello everyone!
Last Tuesday, the 24th; I attended the Webinar "Aprendizaje en Línea y Compentecia Digital Educativa" (Online Learning and Educative Digital Learning), in which the speaker Maria Jesús García San Martín briefly explained what is "Aprende INTEF" (Learn INTEF) for the improvement of digital competence in education through different online training modalities, looking for a digitally competent society.
This event is organized within the framework of the Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Learning and Emerging Learning Experiences; of the Instituto de Formación Contínua - Universitat de Barcelona.

The speaker talked about:
Aprende INTEF: is a section of the Ministry of Education and means Instituto Nacional de Tecnologías Educativas y de Formación del Profesorado. So this section has created The Digital Teaching Competence Portfolio.

The Digital Teaching Competence Portfolio is a service for the recognition and improvement of the digital competence of teachers through continuous self-evaluation and the updatable record of teaching, learning and training experiences. Its objective is to promote the acquisition, development, improvement of the Digital Competence of teachers. The Portfolio has the following structure: biography, self-evaluation, dossier and a "passport".
INTEF has developed a Common Digital Competence Framework for Teachers (CDCFT), which is based on the Common European Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (DIGCOMP).
The five areas that comprise the digital competence for teachers are set in this framework:
Area 1. Information and data literacy
Area 2. Communication and Collaboration
Area 3. Digital content creation
Area 4. Safety
Area 5. Problem-Solving
The 21 competences that make the aforementioned areas are addressed in each of these.
Furthermore, six progressive proficiency levels are set (similar to CEFRL).
A1 - A2 Foundation level
B1 - B2 Intermediate level
C1 - C2 Advanced level

At first, we must sign up for the Portfolio, and you fill the Biography. It is very easy because you have many questions.
Then, you can do Self-assessment, but it is highly recommended to do it little by little; you can continue whenever you want.
Later, you can fill the Dossier, which keeps all the documents that support your self-assessment with evidence such as badges, labels, certificates, degrees, projects, ... It is connected with the AprendeINTEF backpack.
The more you fill in the previous sections, the richer your Passport will be. This passport will be useful in a near future, not only for teachers but for the entire field related to digital competence.

So, how can we add evidence to our level of Digital Competence? INTEF offers different online digital training resources:

EduPills is a micro-learning app for teachers, aimed at enabling teachers to acquire and/or develop digital skills,  and competences in a simple and fast way.
Tutoring: On-line tutored courses that promote professional teacher development.
MOOC INTEF: Open, massive and online training modality aimed at web content dissemination and collaborative learning.
NOOC INTEF: NANO massive, open, and online learning experiences focused on the development of digital teaching competencies.
SPOOC INTEF: Open online courses at your own pace for the autonomous management of learning and participation in educational communities.

The final purpose of this huge project, the Portfolio, is to make people reflect on their digital competence and encourage them to investigate and learn even more. Also, it has a good idea of mix every areas and competence so you can see why you are level B2, for example. Also, it gives you the chance to add all your certificates and evidence to a site which automatically uploads it to your Dossier, so make it faster and easier for users.

So, what I think about this project? It is a huge challenge. Not only for the developers (who still working on it) but for the entire community, mainly teachers. It will help people to understand and involve more in the Digital Competence. I really believe that it will be one of the default sections of the CV, because this helps the employer to correctly analyse the curriculum of its employees.
Also, this project gives you the opportunity to learn more about Digital Competence, in the model that best suits you, such as intensive or extensive courses. the majority of the courses promote collaborative learning, so is enriching for everyone.

I really hope that this project will become international one day.

See you!!
